How challenges work on Batata

A challenge on Batata is one specific claim: I scored this many points on this game, and you cannot beat it. The link carries the game, the score, and the name. Opening it drops the receiver directly inside the same game, with the number they need to beat on screen for the whole run.

It works outside the platform

The link is a normal URL. It works in a group chat, in a DM on any app, on a picture of a QR code if you insist. The receiver does not need an account or an install to accept: the game runs in the browser, the score check happens on our servers, and the sender finds out either way.

Why the score is verified

Scores on Batata are verified server-side. A game cannot be told what you scored by the person playing it: the platform issues a play token when a run starts and checks what comes back. That is not paranoia, it is what makes a challenge worth sending. A bragging right is only worth something if it cannot be forged.
